Temple Pitmasters hosting BBQ Cookoff 11/11/2023

TEMPLE, Texas — The Temple High School BBQ Pitmasters competition team will be hosting a BBQ cook-off and competition this Saturday (November 11) at Temple High School. This will be the first time the Temple Pitmasters have hosted a competition, and the Temple team will be competing for the first time since finishing as reserve champions (2nd Place) at the 2023 State HS BBQ Championships, known as “The Slab”. Twelve schools are expected to compete in the cook-off at Temple High School, under the auspices of the National High School BBQ Association. Teams will be set up in the Temple High School Career and Technical Education parking lot on the north side of the campus from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The competition itself runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and an awards ceremony is scheduled for approximately 6:00 p.m. at the THS Soccer Field adjacent to the CTE parking lot (weather permitting). The Temple HS BBQ Pitmasters are only in their second year of competition and are coached by Joe and Allison Medrano and staff sponsor Margaret Fyffe.

Location: Temple High School Career and Technical Education parking lot, 415 N 31st Street, Temple, TX 76501 (CTE parking lot is located behind the high school, on the north side of the campus)
